Death of recruitment candidate in Lucknow sparks murder inquiry

A resident of Sitapur district died in a suspicious manner while participating in a home guard recruitment race at the PAC Ground in Lucknow, triggering a police investigation into the circumstances surrounding his death.

Yogendra Singh, 25, was competing in the physical fitness test when he collapsed during the event. A subsequent postmortem examination revealed a 250-millilitre plastic bottle lodged in his throat, which pathologists determined caused asphyxiation. The examination also documented twelve distinct injury marks on his body.
