Defence Minister Singh Reviews Combat Readiness Along Sikkim LAC

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh undertook an inspection of defence installations and reviewed the operational readiness of armed forces personnel stationed along the Line of Actual Control in Sikkim, underscoring the strategic importance of the northeastern frontier.

During the review, Singh directed military commanders to prioritise the enhancement of cyber resilience and information integrity across all operational domains. The minister stressed that maintaining robust defences against cyber threats is critical for ensuring uninterrupted combat capability and national security.

Singh also emphasised the importance of comprehensive domain awareness—encompassing air, land, sea, and cyber spaces—as essential components of modern military preparedness. He highlighted that emerging security challenges require armed forces to adopt a multi-dimensional approach to threat assessment and response.

The review included an assessment of ongoing infrastructure projects designed to bolster military capabilities along the frontier. Singh reiterated the government's commitment to ensuring that defence personnel have access to state-of-the-art facilities and equipment necessary for maintaining optimal operational effectiveness in challenging terrain.

The visit underscores New Delhi's continued focus on strengthening its military posture in sensitive border regions and ensuring that armed forces remain equipped to address contemporary security threats.
