Delhi braces for cooler temperatures as rain lashes southern India

The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued forecasts for widespread precipitation across several states and union territories in southern and eastern India. Heavy rainfall at isolated locations is expected over Uttarakhand, Kerala, Mahe, south interior Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Karaikal throughout the day.

Delhi is set to experience comparatively cooler weather patterns as moisture-laden systems continue to affect the broader Indian subcontinent. Residents in the capital can expect a respite from the recent heat spell, with lower maximum temperatures anticipated.

The monsoon progression continues to influence weather systems across the peninsula, bringing significant precipitation to coastal and inland areas. The IMD's forecast suggests that while rainfall will be concentrated in isolated pockets rather than widespread, the intensity in affected zones may be considerable.

Weather-related advisories remain in effect for regions prone to waterlogging and flooding. The southern states and Uttarakhand are advised to remain alert for localized disruptions to transportation and daily activities as heavy downpours persist through the forecast period.
