Delhi braces for moderate rainfall as weather shifts, IMD issues alert

Delhi experienced a weather shift on Thursday with light rainfall across scattered areas, even as the maximum temperature in the capital reached 34.9 degrees Celsius. The Ayanagar weather station recorded the highest precipitation at 3.9 millimeters during the day.

The India Meteorological Department has forecast moderate rainfall in the national capital for both Friday and Saturday, prompting the issuance of yellow alerts for the two days. Residents and commuters have been advised to remain prepared for potentially wet conditions as the weather system moves through the region.

Despite the precipitation, Delhi's air quality remained satisfactory on Thursday evening, with the Air Quality Index standing at 74 as of 4 p.m. The rainfall is expected to provide some relief from the heat and may further improve air quality conditions in the coming days as the weather system intensifies.
