Delhi is likely to witness light to moderate rain with isolated thunderstorms and gusty winds on Sunday, according to meteorological forecasts. The capital may see wind speeds reaching up to 40 kilometres per hour during the spell, bringing some respite from the prevailing heat conditions.
The weather system is expected to have a more pronounced impact across southern India, where several districts face the prospect of heavy rainfall over the coming 24 to 48 hours. Parts of Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Telangana, and Andhra Pradesh are among the regions likely to be affected by the monsoon circulation system.
Northeastern states including Assam, Meghalaya, and Manipur are also predicted to receive substantial precipitation during this period. Residents in these regions have been advised to exercise caution due to the possibility of waterlogging and reduced visibility during heavy downpours.
The India Meteorological Department continues to monitor the developing weather pattern closely and is expected to issue updated forecasts as the system progresses. Authorities in affected areas have been put on alert to manage potential weather-related disruptions and ensure public safety.
