Delhi civic body issues 12 demolition orders, seals 11 properties

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has stepped up its crackdown on structural violations, issuing 12 demolition orders and sealing 11 properties as part of a broader enforcement drive. The action targets dangerous buildings, unauthorised constructions, and structures that contravene building norms across the capital.

As part of the same intensified campaign, the civic body carried out 46 demolitions during the period under review. The enforcement operations reflect the MCD's efforts to ensure compliance with safety standards and prevent construction activities that pose risks to public welfare.

The demolition orders and property seals are issued following inspections that identify structures failing to meet prescribed building regulations. The MCD regularly conducts such drives to address the proliferation of unsafe constructions in unauthorised and regularised colonies across Delhi.

The civic body's enforcement actions are part of its mandate to maintain building standards and eliminate structures deemed hazardous to residents. Officials conduct inspections based on complaints and routine surveys to identify properties requiring intervention under Delhi's building bylaws.
