Delhi CM Accuses Chief Justice of Backing AAP-Congress Alliance

Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta launched a sharp critique against the Chief Justice of India on Wednesday, claiming the senior judicial functionary was functioning as a political instrument for the Aam Aadmi Party and Indian National Congress.

Gupta's remarks come amid escalating tensions between her administration and opposition parties over governance and constitutional matters. The Chief Minister asserted that her party would mount a vigorous resistance against what she characterized as anti-democratic political movements that undermine public mandate while presenting themselves as defenders of constitutional principles.

Speaking at a public event, Gupta contended that certain political forces were attempting to destabilize democratic institutions under the pretext of upholding democratic values. She emphasized her party's commitment to countering such movements and protecting the interests of Delhi's citizens.

The comments reflect deepening political polarization in the capital, with competing claims about institutional autonomy and political legitimacy becoming increasingly contentious. Gupta's accusations against the Chief Justice represent an unusually direct challenge to India's highest judicial authority by a sitting state government official.
