Delhi CM oversees rescue as building collapse death toll reaches six
Chief Minister Rekha Gupta returned to the Satya Niketan collapse site on Monday for the second day of search and rescue operations following the failure of a decades-old residential structure. The incident has claimed six lives with several others injured.

Gupta arrived at the site accompanied by senior officials from the Delhi government and the Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) to review ongoing rescue efforts. The Chief Minister had visited the location on Sunday, when authorities confirmed 11 people had been pulled from the debris.
On Sunday evening, the Delhi government announced a magisterial inquiry into the structural failure. A First Information Report (FIR) has also been registered against the building owner, according to a statement from the Chief Minister's Office.
Gupta visited injured survivors being treated at AIIMS hospital, pledging that those responsible would face strict legal consequences. The Delhi government said it was coordinating with families of the injured and providing necessary support during the crisis.
The decades-old multi-storey building's sudden collapse has triggered questions about building safety standards and maintenance compliance in the capital. Authorities have not yet disclosed preliminary findings regarding the cause of the structural failure.
