Traffic restrictions will be implemented around Anand Vihar Interstate Bus Terminal (ISBT) for eleven days beginning November 5 to regulate movement during the approaching festival season. Delhi authorities have instituted the measures in anticipation of a significant surge in inter-state commuter traffic as residents travel to celebrate major festive occasions.
The restrictions come as the city prepares for one of its busiest travel periods, with Dhanteras marking the start of the festival calendar, followed by Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja. These celebrations typically draw large numbers of people seeking to travel to their home towns and neighboring states.
Anand Vihar ISBT, one of Delhi's primary interstate bus terminals, handles substantial daily traffic even during regular periods. The temporary traffic management measures aim to prevent congestion while ensuring smooth movement of vehicles and pedestrians in the area.
Commuters using the terminal during this period are advised to plan their journeys accordingly and remain alert to traffic signage. Authorities have indicated that the restrictions will remain in place through November 15, after which normal traffic patterns are expected to resume.
