Delhi electoral roll: High-profile voters cleared after verification process
Election officials in Delhi have validated the details of prominent citizens who were issued notices during the Special Intensive Revision exercise, clearing them for inclusion in the final electoral roll. The cleared voters include senior political figures and public personalities from across various sectors.

Senior BJP leader L.K. Advani, former Vice President Jagdeep Dhankhar, External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta, and former Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal are among high-profile individuals whose electoral credentials have been verified and approved, poll officials confirmed on Thursday.
These prominent citizens were among several voters issued notices by the Election Commission as part of the ongoing Special Intensive Revision (SIR) exercise in the capital. The notices cited discrepancies in their enumeration forms, with most flagged for being "unmapped with last SIR" conducted in Delhi in 2002. A significant portion of the affected voters were registered in the New Delhi Assembly constituency.
Election Commission teams, including booth-level officers, conducted field verification visits to validate the details of these voters against supporting documents required by the Election Commission. Following successful verification of their information, officials have cleared them for inclusion in the final electoral roll.
The Special Intensive Revision exercise is a periodic process undertaken by electoral authorities to update and refine voter registers by identifying discrepancies and ensuring accurate enumeration of eligible voters across constituencies.
