Delhi extends property tax waiver scheme deadline to year-end

Delhi property owners have until December 31 to take advantage of the SUNIYO 2.0 scheme, which offers substantial tax relief on outstanding dues. Under the initiative, taxpayers who pay their property tax obligations for six financial years become eligible for a 100 percent waiver on accumulated interest, penalties and older arrears.

The extended deadline provides property owners with additional time to settle their tax liabilities and benefit from the amnesty provisions. The scheme is designed to encourage compliance while providing relief to those burdened by accumulated penalties and interest charges on unpaid property taxes.

To avail the waiver, eligible property owners must ensure they meet the claim process requirements within the stipulated timeframe. The Delhi Municipal Corporation has outlined specific procedures that taxpayers must follow to register their claims and receive the benefit of interest and penalty waiver.

The extension reflects efforts by the Delhi administration to increase revenue collection while addressing genuine grievances of property taxpayers. Officials encourage property owners to complete their tax payments and submit necessary documentation before the December 31 deadline to avoid missing the opportunity for substantial financial relief.
