The Delhi government has initiated a plan to resolve chronic traffic congestion at the Barapullah flyover, citing recommendations from the Traffic Police as the basis for its intervention. PWD Minister Parvesh Verma announced that work has commenced on multiple solutions aimed at improving vehicular flow through the problematic corridor.

The remedial measures include provision of additional lanes and modification of U-turn facilities at key junctures along the flyover. Navigation technology integration through platforms such as Google Maps is also part of the strategy to help commuters identify optimal routes and reduce bottlenecks during peak hours.

The minister attributed the current traffic challenges to design inadequacies in the original flyover structure, pointing to decisions made during the previous administration. The PWD has positioned the current initiative as a necessary correction to infrastructure planning errors that have contributed to congestion on this major Delhi thoroughfare.

The flyover, which connects multiple residential and commercial zones in south Delhi, has long been a critical corridor for daily commuters. Officials indicated that the implementation of traffic management improvements is expected to enhance overall flow and reduce travel times for vehicles using the route.
