Delhi High Court Set To Expand Bench With Seven New Judicial Officers

Seven new judges will take oath at the Delhi High Court on Tuesday, bringing the total sanctioned strength of the bench to 50 judges. Chief Justice D K Upadhyaya will preside over the swearing-in ceremony for the newly appointed judicial officers.
The seven judges being inducted are Nivedita Anil Sharma, Nisha Sahay Saxena, Sanjay Sharma, Bharat Parashar, Aditi Choudhary, Dinesh Bhatt and Arun Bhardwaj. This expansion represents a significant addition to the Delhi High Court's bench strength.
The increase in judicial strength is expected to enhance the court's capacity to handle the substantial backlog of cases pending before it. The Delhi High Court has long faced challenges in managing its docket, with thousands of cases awaiting resolution.
