Delhi implements traffic diversions at Anand Vihar ISBT ahead of festival rush

Delhi's traffic authorities have rolled out a comprehensive traffic management plan for the Anand Vihar ISBT area and adjoining transport corridors as commuters prepare for peak festive travel during Dhanteras, Diwali, Bhai Dooj and Chhath Puja celebrations.

The measures, effective from November 5 through November 15, include route diversions and traffic restrictions designed to maintain smooth vehicular flow around the interstate bus terminal and neighbouring railway stations. According to the traffic advisory, Road No. 56 (Chaudhary Charan Singh Marg) and Road No. 57 (Swami Dayanand Marg) will be among the key affected stretches, with traffic control points established at Ghazipur roundabout and Ramprastha in Vivek Vihar.

Commuters travelling towards National Highway 24, Sarai Kale Khan and Barapulla have been advised to utilise the Delhi-Dehradun Expressway via GT Road as an alternative route. Those heading towards Ghaziabad and other eastern destinations should similarly follow designated diversions to avoid congestion during the heavy traffic period.

The Delhi Traffic Police has requested all travellers to plan their journeys in advance and remain updated on advisories to minimise delays. Motorists are urged to avoid peak hours and follow signage placed at diversion points throughout the affected zones.
