Delhi imposes second day of traffic curbs amid poll protests

Traffic restrictions will remain in effect across Delhi on Sunday for a second consecutive day as the Cockroach Janta Party and allied student organisations press demands for Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar's removal.

According to an advisory issued late Saturday by Delhi Traffic Police, diversions will be implemented from 6 am onwards, subject to ground conditions. Movement is expected to be impacted around key central Delhi locations including Jantar Mantar, Connaught Place, Mandi House, and Patel Chowk, with approximately 30 diversions planned across the city.

The CJP, alongside prominent groups such as the Students' Federation of India, has vowed to sustain protests until their demands are fulfilled. At a press conference on Saturday at HKS Surjeet Bhawan, CJP leader Ajinkya Shinde announced that daily marches to Jantar Mantar would continue as part of the campaign to oust Kumar from his position.

Residents and commuters have been advised to plan their journeys accordingly and seek alternative routes. Authorities have urged the public to cooperate with traffic personnel as demonstrations continue to unfold across the capital.
