Delhi has formally constituted the Delhi Institute for Transformation and Innovation (DITI) to serve as the city government's principal advisory body for public policy formulation and strategic development. Modelled on the lines of the national NITI Aayog, the new institution marks a significant institutional restructuring under the Delhi administration's governance framework.
The DITI supersedes the Dialogue and Development Commission that previously functioned as the Aam Aadmi Party government's primary think tank. Chief Minister Rekha Gupta had announced the establishment of DITI during the Delhi budget presentation in March, with formal approval granted in July for operationalizing the institutional structure.
According to official notifications, DITI will comprise a Governing Board and an Executive Committee tasked with charting the city's developmental trajectory and institutional reforms. The governing board's chairperson will be nominated by the chief minister, while the board composition includes all Delhi government ministers, the chief secretary, the Delhi Development Authority vice-chairperson, and the Municipal Corporation commissioner.
The think tank's mandate encompasses policy analysis, development strategy formulation, and institutional restructuring initiatives aligned with the government's medium to long-term vision of transforming Delhi by 2047. The institutional framework aims to provide comprehensive advisory support for evidence-based policymaking across sectors critical to urban development and governance.
