Delhi man fatally stabbed by food vendor over chhole bhature dispute

A man was fatally stabbed by a food vendor in Delhi's Nihal Vihar locality on Tuesday, authorities said. The victim, Sandeep, who worked as a driver, was attacked during a heated argument that erupted over his request for extra chhole while ordering chhole bhature from the vendor's stall.

Police said the confrontation escalated rapidly, resulting in the vendor wielding a knife and inflicting fatal injuries on Sandeep. Emergency services rushed the victim to a nearby hospital, but he was pronounced dead on arrival.

The incident underscores recurring tensions in informal food vending spaces across Delhi, where minor disputes occasionally turn violent. Investigators have begun their inquiry into the circumstances of the stabbing and are working to locate the accused vendor.

Further details regarding the motive and events leading up to the assault are still being established by law enforcement authorities.
