Delhi man sets himself ablaze after rejection by friend's daughter

A middle-aged resident of Wazirpur in Delhi died after setting himself on fire at a factory following a romantic rejection, authorities said Tuesday. The victim, identified as Sandeep, 47, was married at the time he allegedly pursued a relationship with his friend's 20-year-old daughter.

According to police records, Sandeep expressed a desire to marry the young woman, who declined his advances. The rejection prompted him to take the extreme step of self-immolation at his workplace.

Investigators discovered a suicide note at the scene in which Sandeep attributed his decision to the breakdown of friendship resulting from the woman's refusal. The circumstances surrounding the incident are currently under police examination.

The case highlights concerns about obsessive behavior and rejection-related incidents across metropolitan areas. Authorities have registered appropriate documentation in connection with the death.
