The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced access restrictions at 57 stations across its network on Saturday to manage anticipated congestion during the Chief Justice of India's planned protest at Jantar Mantar. The restrictions are designed to regulate passenger flow and ensure operational efficiency during the event.
Interchange facilities will remain available at all affected stations to allow commuters to transfer between different metro lines, with the exception of New Delhi metro station. This exception is expected to significantly impact travel patterns in the central business district and around key government areas.
The DMRC has advised commuters to plan their journeys in advance and consider alternative routes or modes of transportation during the period of restricted entry. The affected stations span multiple lines across the metro network, reflecting the scale of anticipated foot traffic in areas surrounding the protest venue.
The restrictions follow standard protocols adopted by the transport authority during major public events and demonstrations in the national capital. Delhi Metro officials have urged the public to cooperate with staff at stations and allow additional time for their journeys on Saturday.
