Delhi Metro to start early services on three lines for Diwali

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has announced modified service schedules for Diwali to accommodate increased passenger traffic during the festival period. Services on the Pink, Magenta, and Grey lines will begin operations at 6 am instead of the standard 7 am Sunday timings, providing commuters with extended travel windows.

The early start on these three corridors is expected to ease congestion and allow residents better access to markets, shopping areas, and celebration venues across Delhi during the festival rush. The DMRC announcement, made via its official social media channels, underscores the organisation's effort to align metro services with festival demand patterns.

To complement the early morning extension, the metro operator will curtail evening services, with the last trains scheduled to depart at 10 pm across the network. This adjustment aims to balance operational efficiency with the festive travel needs of the capital's commuters.

The DMRC regularly modifies metro timings during major festivals and peak travel periods to enhance service delivery and passenger convenience. Commuters are advised to plan their journeys accordingly during the Diwali period.
