Delhi-NCR air quality improves sharply as temperatures drop, AQI dips below 100
Air quality across Delhi and the National Capital Region has shown marked improvement, with several monitoring stations recording air quality index readings well below hazardous levels. The Central Pollution Control Board reported readings in some areas falling below the 100-mark, signalling a significant shift from earlier pollution levels.

Air quality conditions across Delhi-NCR have improved considerably, with temperatures dropping and wind patterns dispersing pollutants more effectively across the region. The Central Pollution Control Board's latest readings show a substantial decline in harmful particulate matter concentration at multiple monitoring stations.
Monitoring data from key locations revealed notable improvements in air quality indices. IIT Delhi recorded an AQI of 73, while Burari registered 80, both well within the "satisfactory" range. Ashok Vihar and Anand Vihar, two densely populated areas, showed readings of 104 and 116 respectively, indicating a transition away from the more hazardous levels witnessed earlier.
Much of Delhi proper has seen air quality index readings drop below 150, with numerous zones now recording measurements below the 100 threshold that marks the boundary between satisfactory and moderately polluted air. The improvement comes as cooler weather patterns have begun to establish themselves across the region, facilitating better atmospheric dispersion of pollutants.
Experts attribute the improvement to a combination of falling temperatures and improved wind speeds, which help dissipate suspended particles. Residents across the National Capital Region have reported clearer skies and reduced haze compared to previous weeks, though monitoring officials continue to track air quality metrics closely as meteorological conditions remain subject to seasonal fluctuations.
