Delhi-NCR CNG prices surge by ₹3.89 per kg effective Saturday

Compressed natural gas prices in Delhi and the National Capital Region will increase by ₹3.89 per kilogram from 6 am on Saturday, Indraprastha Gas Limited announced Friday. The hike marks another adjustment to consumer fuel costs as energy suppliers grapple with volatile global commodity markets.

The state-owned gas utility attributed the price revision to surging international LNG costs, which have climbed significantly since the onset of conflict in West Asia. A substantial portion of the input gas used for CNG supply in the region is sourced through imported liquefied natural gas, exposing the company to fluctuations in spot market prices.

IGL said the calibrated revision was necessary to partially offset mounting input gas procurement costs. The company noted that with international LNG prices remaining elevated and their cost impact becoming increasingly significant, the adjustment had become unavoidable. The new rates will come into effect across all IGL retail outlets in the Delhi-NCR region from the designated time Saturday morning.

The price increase is likely to impact daily commuters and commercial vehicle operators across India's capital region, adding to transportation costs already influenced by global crude oil markets.
