Delhi-NCR pollution crisis: Ten areas hit critical air quality levels

Air quality monitoring data reveals a significant pollution crisis across the Delhi-NCR region, with multiple areas experiencing dangerous atmospheric conditions. The analysis identified ten zones facing the most severe air quality degradation, including prominent Delhi localities such as Rohini, RK Puram and Vivek Vihar.

According to comprehensive monitoring station data, 31 stations across the region have recorded air quality classified as 'severe,' while an additional 28 stations registered readings in the 'very poor' category. This concentration of hazardous readings underscores the scale of air pollution affecting the metropolitan area.

The 'severe' air quality classification indicates conditions that pose significant health risks to vulnerable populations and the general public alike. Residents in affected areas are typically advised to minimize outdoor activities and take protective measures including the use of air filtration masks.

The widespread nature of poor air quality across multiple monitoring stations suggests systemic pollution challenges affecting the broader Delhi-NCR region. Environmental experts attribute such conditions to various factors including vehicular emissions, industrial activity, construction dust, and seasonal weather patterns that trap pollutants in the atmosphere.

These findings underscore the need for sustained air quality management interventions and policy measures across the metropolitan region.
