Delhi Police announces full tuition coverage for children of fallen officers

Delhi Police has announced a comprehensive reimbursement scheme covering full tuition fees for the children of officers who lose their lives while serving on duty. The move represents a significant expansion of the department's existing welfare framework designed to provide financial security to the families of its personnel.

Under the revised scheme, the educational expenses of dependent children will be fully covered, ensuring uninterrupted access to quality schooling and higher education. The initiative acknowledges the sacrifices made by police officers and seeks to ease the financial burden on bereaved families during critical periods.

The welfare enhancement extends beyond tuition coverage. Scholarship amounts allocated for students pursuing higher education have been increased from ₹15,000 to ₹20,000, providing additional financial support for those advancing to university-level studies. The enhanced scholarship amount aims to cover essential academic and living expenses.

The Delhi Police's expanded welfare package reflects growing recognition of the need to support families of officers who sustain fatal injuries or complications arising from their professional duties. The comprehensive approach addresses both immediate educational needs and longer-term academic aspirations of dependent children, ensuring they can pursue their studies without financial constraints.
