Delhi police bust fake CBI raid racket, arrest seven suspects

Law enforcement authorities in Delhi have dismantled a criminal racket involved in staging fake Central Bureau of Investigation raids, with the arrest of seven suspects including two women at the centre of the operation. The investigations revealed an intricate conspiracy where the accused posed as CBI officials to conduct raids on residences and businesses across Delhi.

The two women, identified as Asifa and Pooja Agarwal, played central roles in orchestrating the fraudulent operations, according to police officials. The gang operated by impersonating federal investigators and conducting searches at unsuspecting premises, using the deception to extort money and valuables from victims who feared genuine legal action.

Detectives discovered that the racket had been operating for a considerable period, exploiting the fear and intimidation associated with CBI raids to make victims comply with their demands. The accused would conduct staged searches and subsequently demand payments to avoid further legal complications, police said.

The remaining suspects in custody are being interrogated to determine the full extent of their criminal activities and identify additional victims. Investigators are working to establish connections to other similar cases and recover proceeds from the illegal operations. The Delhi police have urged citizens reporting suspicious raid activities to verify credentials with official CBI channels.
