Delhi police have filed an FIR against CJP (Communist Party of India Marxist-Leninist Liberation) leaders Sourav Das, Ashutosh Ranka, and other party members for entering the Jantar Mantar protest area without authorisation, officials said Wednesday. According to the police complaint, the activists allegedly scaled a gate located near the JDU office to gain access to the designated protest venue. The incident occurred during a demonstration where the party members staged protests demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar. Jantar Mantar, a popular protest site in central Delhi, operates under regulated entry protocols requiring prior permission for organised demonstrations. The police action highlights ongoing tensions between protest groups and authorities over compliance with protest regulations in the national capital. A formal investigation is underway to determine the circumstances leading to the unauthorised entry and to identify all individuals involved in the incident.
