The FIR was filed following incidents that occurred during a Congress-led protest in the capital on Wednesday, according to police sources. The case includes allegations of physical assault on law enforcement officers and obstruction of official duties during the demonstration.

Rahul Gandhi led the INDIA bloc opposition coalition in the street protest before police detained him and numerous Members of Parliament. Police halted the protesters as they were being transported by bus for an unscheduled sit-in at Jantar Mantar, following a lunch meeting at a restaurant on Janpath.

A total of 91 individuals were detained during the course of the protest, including multiple parliamentarians and party leaders, police said. Investigators are currently examining the allegations and evaluating the involvement of those named in the FIR.

The registration of the case marks an escalation in the clash between the Congress party and law enforcement during the opposition's demonstrations in Delhi.
