Delhi Police issue lookout notice for building owner after collapse kills six

Police have issued a lookout notice against Hari Ram, the owner of the structure that gave way while repair work was in progress, official sources said on Monday. The notice was issued as investigators work to establish accountability for the incident that claimed six lives.

Ram has been booked on charges including culpable homicide, negligence in maintaining the structure, and endangering public safety, police said. The case was registered at the South Campus Police Station following the collapse.

The building, which operated as a boys' paying guest accommodation serving Delhi University students, collapsed around 1:30 pm on Sunday afternoon. Rescue operations continued into their second day on Monday, with emergency personnel extracting 11 people from the debris so far. Search efforts were ongoing to locate additional survivors among the rubble.
