Delhi Police have ramped up security operations across New Delhi district in anticipation of a proposed protest by the Cockroach Janta Party slated for October 10, officials said. The intensified measures come despite the absence of formal permission for the demonstration, with heightened vigilance particularly around Jantar Mantar and surrounding areas.
As part of the proactive security framework, police have been tracking mobilisation efforts and scrutinising travel and transport arrangements related to the planned gathering. Authorities have also increased coordination with educational institutions, hospitality providers and transport operators to monitor and manage potential disruptions.
Thousands of police personnel are being deployed across the district as part of the broader law and order strategy. The multi-agency approach reflects concerns about potential large-scale mobilisation, though no official sanction has been granted for the protest as of now.
The heightened security posture follows standard protocols adopted by Delhi Police for managing demonstrations and public gatherings in the national capital. Officials have indicated that security arrangements will remain in place until the proposed event date passes.
