Delhi is gripping early winter conditions as the final weeks of October bring increasingly cold mornings to the region. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature plummeted to 15.3 degrees Celsius, marking the lowest October reading recorded in the past three years.
The early onset of cooler weather follows typical seasonal patterns for the capital, though residents are already reaching for warmer clothing as daylight hours shorten. The sharp decline from warmer autumn conditions caught many by surprise, with meteorological authorities attributing the drop to shifting wind patterns and reduced solar radiation during the late-month period.
While temperatures have tumbled, air quality in Delhi has remained relatively stable, hovering in the moderate category. This contrasts with previous years when October temperature dips have coincided with deteriorating air conditions. Environmental monitoring agencies continue to track both parameters as the transition toward peak winter months approaches.
Meteorologists expect temperatures to continue declining through November and into December, with residents and city administrators preparing for the challenging winter season ahead. The Indian Meteorological Department has advised residents to take appropriate precautions against the cold while monitoring air quality updates for any significant changes.
