Delhi's liquor booking app operated under previous government's approval

The 'Delhi Liquor Booking' app, operated by the Delhi State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation (DSIIDC), was sanctioned by the earlier Delhi administration, according to officials familiar with the matter. The application was rolled out following completion of necessary pilot trials and testing phases.

The digital booking system represents an effort to modernize retail liquor sales in the national capital. Through the app, consumers can place orders online and collect their purchases from designated DSIIDC liquor vends across Delhi.

The clarification regarding the app's approval timeline comes as the current administration reviews various initiatives inherited from the previous government. Officials stated that all necessary protocols were followed during the app's development and deployment phases.

The move reflects a broader trend among Indian states and municipal corporations to adopt technology-driven solutions for regulated commodity sales. Other liquor retail systems across India have similarly explored digital ordering mechanisms to streamline transactions and enhance customer convenience.
