A bomb threat that triggered a security alert at Air Force Bal Bharati School on Lodi Road in Delhi on October 23 has been traced to a student of the institution, police said Tuesday. The school received an email threatening to detonate explosives on its premises, prompting immediate action from authorities. Technical analysis by the South District Cyber Police identified the sender as a minor student enrolled at the school. During investigation, police established that the student had fabricated the threat deliberately to secure leave from attending classes. No explosives were found at the school following a subsequent search. The minor has been proceeded against under the Juvenile Justice Act, police said, without disclosing further details about the student or specific charges. The case highlights growing concerns over hoax bomb threats in educational institutions across major Indian cities, which often result in unnecessary security mobilization and disruption to academic schedules.
