Parth Anand, a teenager from Delhi, created an AI-driven platform called Sadak following a personal incident that underscored the dangers of poorly maintained roads. The initiative came after his parents sustained injuries when their motorcycle struck a pothole, prompting Anand to develop a technological solution to address the widespread infrastructure problem affecting urban areas across South Asia.

The platform leverages artificial intelligence to detect road defects, including potholes and surface damage, enabling faster identification and reporting of maintenance needs. By automating the detection process, Sadak aims to streamline communication between citizens and municipal authorities, potentially reducing response times and improving road safety for commuters.

Since its development, the platform has attracted attention beyond India's borders. The system has been deployed in Fiji, indicating growing interest in digital solutions for infrastructure management in developing economies. The expansion suggests that road maintenance challenges, while particularly acute in South Asia, represent a global problem amenable to technological intervention.

The initiative reflects a broader trend of young innovators in India addressing civic challenges through technology. By combining artificial intelligence with grassroots problem-solving, Anand's project demonstrates how localized concerns can evolve into scalable solutions with international applications. The platform's expansion into Pacific island nations underscores the universal nature of infrastructure maintenance as a public health and safety issue.
