Delhi is preparing for its annual winter air quality crisis with a comprehensive action plan that takes effect November 1. Among the key provisions, vehicles registered outside the capital that do not meet BS-VI emission standards will be prohibited from entering the city limits. The restriction applies to both petrol and diesel-powered vehicles, reflecting authorities' focus on reducing vehicular pollution during the months when atmospheric conditions naturally trap pollutants.

Clean fuel vehicles, including those powered by compressed natural gas and electric motors, have been exempted from the entry ban.
