Delhi's civic authorities have ramped up security measures in preparation for a march planned by the Cockroach Janata Party (CJP) on October 16. The New Delhi Municipal Corporation (NDMC) issued a notice on Tuesday closing Central Park at Connaught Place for two days to prevent any disruptions in the high-profile commercial area.
Delhi Police have urged residents and commuters to steer clear of the affected zones, citing existing prohibitory orders in force across the capital. A police spokesperson confirmed that undercover officers have been deployed in the vicinity as part of standard security protocols for large public gatherings.
The traffic police department has issued an advisory warning of potential congestion on major thoroughfares in the vicinity of the proposed route. Commuters have been advised to use alternative roads and expect possible delays during the march, which is slated to take place in central Delhi.
The heightened security posture reflects standard precautions taken by authorities ahead of large public demonstrations and marches in the capital. While no specific security threats have been reported, the deployment of plainclothes police personnel is a routine measure adopted to maintain law and order during such events.
