Delhi police and civic authorities have initiated extensive security arrangements across Connaught Place, one of the capital's most prominent commercial and public spaces, in anticipation of a large-scale protest planned by activist groups. Central Park, a popular gathering point in the area, has been sealed off as part of the precautionary measures to manage crowd movements and maintain public order.
The heightened security deployment comes as organisers prepare to hold the 'Lehra Do Tiranga' demonstration, which is expected to draw significant participation. Authorities have cordoned off key sections of the marketplace and restricted vehicle and pedestrian access to sensitive areas to facilitate crowd management.
Police personnel have been positioned at strategic locations throughout Connaught Place, while traffic diversions have been put in place to minimise disruption to commercial activities and the general public. Barricades and security checkpoints have been established at multiple entry and exit points.
The administrative measures reflect standard protocols implemented by Delhi authorities during major public gatherings in high-footfall commercial zones. Officials have urged residents and commuters to plan alternate routes and exercise patience during the period of restrictions, which are expected to remain in effect until the conclusion of the demonstration.
