Delhi Traffic Police announce major restrictions for BRICS Summit rehearsal
The Delhi Traffic Police has issued an advisory warning of significant traffic disruptions across the national capital on September 2 as authorities conduct a motorcade rehearsal for the 18th BRICS Summit. Motorists are urged to use alternate routes during the five-hour exercise.

Delhi's traffic authorities have announced restrictions and diversions affecting more than 35 roads across the city on September 2 to facilitate a rehearsal of the motorcade for the upcoming BRICS Summit. The exercise, scheduled from 10 am to 3 pm, will involve traffic regulation at 22 diversion points, officials said on Tuesday.
The 18th BRICS Summit will be hosted in Delhi on September 12-13 at Bharat Mandapam in Pragati Maidan, according to the Ministry of External Affairs. The rehearsal is part of final preparations to ensure seamless movement of delegations and dignitaries during the summit.
Among the major thoroughfares likely to experience congestion are Sardar Patel Marg, Mother Teresa Crescent, Teen Murti Marg, Akbar Road, Tees January Marg, Rajesh Pilot Marg, Subramaniam Bharti Marg, Mathura Road, Moti Lal Nehru Marg, Dr Zakir Hussain Marg, Brigadier Hoshiar Singh Marg, Africa Avenue Road, Satya Marg, Shanti Path, and Janpath.
The traffic police have appealed to commuters to plan their travel accordingly and utilize alternative routes wherever feasible. The advisory comes as the capital prepares to host the international summit, which brings together leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa.
