Delhi train services suspended ahead of planned protest at Jantar Mantar

Train services at two of Delhi's major railway terminals will remain suspended for several hours on October 10 as a security measure, according to operational sources. All mail and express trains scheduled to arrive at New Delhi Station and Hazrat Nizamuddin Station have been cancelled until 2 pm, affecting commuter and long-distance rail traffic in the national capital.

The service suspension has been implemented ahead of a planned protest march at Jantar Mantar, a prominent demonstration site in central Delhi. The Cockroach Janta Party has announced plans to hold a demonstration at the venue to protest against Chief Election Commissioner Gyanesh Kumar.

Railways officials have cited security concerns as the reason for the precautionary cancellation. The move reflects standard operational protocols adopted during periods of anticipated civil unrest in the capital city. Passengers have been advised to check with the Indian Railways website or contact stations directly for updated information regarding their bookings.

The suspension is expected to remain in effect until the afternoon, after which normal train services are anticipated to resume. Commuters are urged to plan their travel accordingly and make alternative arrangements if their journeys fall within the affected timeframe.
