Delhi transformed with lights and blooms ahead of BRICS Summit
Central Delhi is undergoing a major aesthetic upgrade as the national capital prepares to host the 18th BRICS Leaders' Summit this week. Illuminated roundabouts, floral displays and themed signages have been installed across key locations to welcome delegates.

The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) has orchestrated an extensive beautification drive across central Delhi ahead of the BRICS Summit, which commences on September 12. Decorative lighting installations have been deployed at prominent locations including Patel Chowk, Windsor Place, Mandi House, Teen Murti, Lok Kalyan Metro Station and the PMO roundabout, transforming the cityscape after dark.
Beyond illumination, the civic authority has introduced LED signages bearing the official BRICS Summit logo and installed thematic posters on street-light poles along major routes. Freshly landscaped roads and floral arrangements complement the lighting scheme, creating a cohesive visual experience across the capital.
The beautification efforts have concentrated on thoroughfares linking Indira Gandhi International Airport and designated hotels with Bharat Mandapam, the summit venue located in central Delhi. This targeted approach ensures visiting dignitaries and media personnel encounter an enhanced urban environment throughout their movements in the city.
India assumes the chair of the BRICS grouping for this biennial gathering of leaders from Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa, alongside representatives from partner nations. The two-day summit is expected to draw significant international attention to New Delhi's capabilities as a host city for major multilateral events.
