Delhi transport strike enters third day as government appeals to drivers

Transport Minister Pankaj Singh made a public appeal to the striking workers to resume operations, indicating that the government has made substantial concessions to address their grievances. According to the minister, the majority of the drivers' demands have been accepted by the administration.
However, one critical issue remains unresolved: the workers' demand for salary increases. This outstanding wage dispute appears to be the primary sticking point preventing a resolution to the labor action that has paralyzed bus services across the metropolis.
The prolonged strike has underscored the dependence of Delhi's residents on the DTC fleet, which operates thousands of buses serving millions of commuters daily. The transport department has not provided an estimated timeline for when services might resume, as negotiations continue over the wage settlement.
