A passenger was killed in a violent altercation with a van driver in Delhi after disagreeing over the fare amount, law enforcement officials said. The dispute, which centred on Rs 1,000, escalated when the driver allegedly attacked the passenger with bricks, resulting in fatal injuries.
Following the incident, the accused reportedly contacted his wife, Kamini Makhija, 50, and son, Laksh Makhija, 28, to assist in hiding the body, according to police statements. The family members' involvement in the alleged cover-up has prompted investigators to expand their inquiry beyond the primary suspect.
The Delhi Police have registered a case in connection with the incident. Authorities are conducting further investigation into the circumstances surrounding the altercation and examining the roles of the other family members implicated in the alleged concealment of evidence. The case highlights the dangers of unregulated transport services and disputes that can escalate to fatal consequences.
