Delhi Voter Roll Revision Reveals Massive Gaps in Two South Districts

Delhi's voter roll revision process has exposed substantial gaps in data collection across multiple constituencies, with Tughlakabad emerging as the worst-affected area. According to official records, nearly 48 percent of enumeration forms—92,033 out of 1,92,419—remain uncollected in the constituency, leaving a significant portion of the electorate unaccounted for in the revised list.

Okhla constituency ranks second in terms of missing voter data. The district has failed to collect forms from 1,63,829 voters out of an initial electorate of 3,62,813, translating to a shortfall of 45.16 percent. Electoral officials have yet to clarify the reasons behind the incomplete data collection in these constituencies.

The revision exercise, which forms a crucial part of the electoral process to maintain accurate voter rolls, appears to have encountered logistical or administrative challenges in south Delhi. These gaps raise questions about the comprehensiveness of the updated voter register and may necessitate remedial measures before subsequent electoral activities.

Electoral authorities typically undertake periodic revisions to account for population changes, relocations, and demographic shifts. The current discrepancies in Tughlakabad and Okhla suggest that concerned officials may need to intensify collection efforts to achieve fuller representation of eligible voters in these areas.
