Deloitte, one of the world's largest professional services firms, has reached a settlement with US authorities over alleged discriminatory employment practices. The $21.5 million agreement resolves claims that the company engaged in race- and sex-based discrimination across multiple areas of its human resources operations.
The settlement covers alleged discrimination in hiring decisions, employee promotions, staffing assignments and the administration of employee benefit programmes. The allegations centred on whether qualified candidates from protected groups were denied equal opportunities for advancement and compensation compared to their peers.
