DENR Caraga removes 6 tons of waste in regional coastal cleanup

SAN FRANCISCO, Agusan del Sur — Environmental authorities in the Caraga region have successfully removed 6,027.92 kilograms of coastal waste following an intensive cleanup campaign that mobilized over 1,400 volunteers across multiple municipalities.

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) Caraga conducted the cleanup operation from September 16 to 19, engaging 1,458 volunteers who worked to clear 10.37 kilometers of shoreline throughout the region. The campaign focused on removing non-biodegradable waste items that pose significant threats to marine ecosystems and coastal communities.
