MANILA — The Department of Environment and Natural Resources reported significant progress for its DENR Express: Permitting on Wheels program, which has served more than 10,000 clients and processed thousands of environmental permits across the country since beginning operations in April 2026.
According to a DENR statement released Wednesday, Environment Secretary Juan Miguel "Mitch" Cuna highlighted the initiative's rapid uptake and expansion of permit accessibility throughout the archipelago. The mobile permitting service brings DENR authorization processes directly to communities, reducing the need for applicants to travel to central offices.
The program represents a significant shift in how the DENR delivers environmental permitting services to the public and private sectors. By operating as a traveling office, the service has been able to reach provincial areas and remote locations that previously had limited access to permit issuance facilities.
The strong initial performance suggests growing demand for streamlined environmental compliance processes among businesses and individuals throughout the region. The DENR has indicated the program's continued expansion as part of broader efforts to improve government service delivery.
