MANILA — The Commission on Audit has flagged critical delays in the Department of Education's classroom construction program, revealing that merely 2 percent of the 5,298 classrooms targeted for completion in 2025 have been finished.
According to COA's 2025 audit report on DepEd operations, the agency fell far short of its infrastructure development goals for the year. The audit noted that approximately 66 percent of planned classroom construction projects, representing 9,450 facilities, remained incomplete.
