DepEd partners with 170+ institutions to equip SHS graduates for jobs

MANILA — The Department of Education (DepEd) has unveiled an expanded initiative to bridge the gap between classroom learning and workplace readiness, enlisting more than 170 institutions from diverse industries as collaborative partners.

Under the program, senior high school (SHS) students are expected to gain hands-on experience and develop genuine competencies aligned with actual job market demands. The DepEd's strategy centers on direct engagement with industry leaders to identify skill gaps and align curriculum content with workforce requirements.

The partnership approach reflects growing recognition that traditional academic instruction alone may not adequately prepare students for immediate employment. By incorporating practical training and industry-standard practices into the SHS curriculum, the department aims to increase graduate employability and reduce the transition period from education to productive work.
