DepEd releases P113M for school projects in Oriental Mindoro city

CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro — The Department of Education (DepEd) has released P113 million in funding for school building construction projects in Calapan City, according to Mayor Doy Leachon on Tuesday. The amount represents the first tranche of a P226-million total allocation earmarked for 14 public schools in the city.
Leachon said the initial disbursement will enable municipal authorities to begin implementation of the school infrastructure program. The release of funds marks a significant step toward addressing the educational facilities needs across the local school system.
The remaining P113 million from the full allocation is expected to be released in subsequent phases, allowing for continued progress on the construction projects. The initiatives are part of broader national efforts to improve educational infrastructure in the region.
