DepEd rolls out school visits to cement Philippines' PISA success

MANILA — The Department of Education announced Wednesday it has begun field visits to schools across the country as part of efforts to build on the Philippines' performance in the 2025 Programme for International Student Assessment.
The systematic school visits target both public and private institutions that participated in PISA, the global benchmark for evaluating educational systems. Officials said the campaign is designed to strengthen local support networks and ensure sustained improvement in academic outcomes.
DepEd emphasized that the initiative represents a strategic effort to capitalize on recent gains and establish mechanisms for long-term academic development. The field visits will allow education officials to work directly with school administrators, teachers, and stakeholders to identify challenges and develop tailored solutions.
The Philippines has been working to enhance its performance in PISA, an OECD-administered assessment that tests 15-year-old students in reading, mathematics, and science across participating nations.
