DFA opens authentication hub in Bohol to ease document verification
Residents of Bohol and neighboring provinces can now authenticate public documents locally following the opening of a new Department of Foreign Affairs hub in Tagbilaran City on October 30. The facility aims to eliminate the need for residents to travel to Cebu or Manila for document authentication services.

The DFA Authentication Hub, situated on the fifth floor of Alturas Mall in Tagbilaran City, was inaugurated to provide convenient access to document authentication services for residents across the Visayas region. The establishment of the facility represents an expansion of the DFA's efforts to decentralize services and improve accessibility for Filipinos seeking to authenticate public documents for overseas use.
The hub is expected to streamline the authentication process for residents requiring certified copies of government-issued documents, including birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other vital records needed for international transactions, employment, or immigration purposes. By operating locally, the facility eliminates travel requirements that previously necessitated trips to regional centers in Cebu or the national capital.
The opening of the Bohol Authentication Hub reflects the DFA's commitment to bringing consular services closer to Filipino communities outside Metro Manila. Similar initiatives have been undertaken in other regions as the department continues to modernize its service delivery infrastructure across the archipelago.
